French Gilt Bronze Lantern, circa 1900

A very fine acorn shaped lantern. The top support issuing four chains that end on the main pierced gallery ornated with gilt bronze flames. The four main ribs separate the frosted glass panels. In between ribs repousse garlands and bows of the highest quality. Frosted bowl supported by a gilt bronze frame at the bottom. France, circa 1900. Note: The central rod depicted here is not the original one. Since the central shaft was very long we decided to make a temporary rod in order to display and photograph this piece. We will custom fit the original shaft upon receiving instructions from the buyer. Central rod measures: 116″ long.
